Experience the captivating fusion of Japanese and American influences in Mayuko Ono Gray’s graphite drawings. Within each artwork the calligraphic characters of a Japanese proverb form a continuous line as a metaphor for traversing a physical existence at birth, through a complicated life, to the exit of the body in death. Perpetual energy, emanating from atoms, to shape matter and form, flood the compositions, illustrating the invisible omnipresence of the soul beyond its temporary earthly existence.
